Description: This was one of my first finds and as a newbie it wasn't too difficult. Here are some facts I have found:

- A planetary nebula
- 1000 light years away
- 2 light years diameter growing at 20 miles per second.

How to find it:
1. Find Altair which is at the bottom of the summer triangle (southern most)
2. Up from Altair (north) is an arrow like group of four stars.
3. Locate the eastern most star in the finderscope. This is Gamma Sagittae.
[Finderscope directions]
4. Move your finder scope down from Gamma Sagittae so that it is no longer in your finderscope. The Dubmbbell Nebula should now be a small faint smudge.

Magnification: I have only tried my 26mm which gives 46x

Enjoy
